The 2nd Annual Auto Tunes: College A Cappella Competition took place on Monday, January 27 at 7 pm.
Celebrate your favorite ride at The Washington Auto Show on Monday night to the tune of local talent as DC college a cappella groups sound off in the second annual “Auto Tunes: College A Cappella Competition.” Crooners from American and Catholic universities will cap off “Student Day” at the show, which offers discount tickets to guests with a student ID. “The Washington Auto Show has always been about entertainment and education, and we want to share that experience with our youngest and future drivers – the city’s burgeoning student population,” says Washington Auto Show Chairman Kevin Reilly. “We want to celebrate our students, and what better way to do that than with music?” Students get into the show for just $5 on Monday ($7 off the $12 ticket price) by showing student ID. Monday evening’s contest will begin at 7 p.m. and will feature performances by A.U.’s On a Sensual Note and Redline A Cappella from Catholic University.
The winning group will be determined by an official “applause meter” to reveal the audience’s favorite. The winning team members will each receive $30 in iTunes gift cards. All participants will receive $10 iTunes cards.
