The Washington, D.C. Auto Show returns to the Walter E. Washington Convention Center from Friday, January 23 through Sunday, February 1, bringing together the latest vehicles, cutting edge mobility, and hands-on experiences for car lovers of all ages. Whether this is your first visit or a longtime tradition, a little planning can help you make the most of your day at the show. Here are a few tips to help you navigate the floor and enjoy everything the 2026 show has to offer.

Pick The Ticket That Fits You Style

There are several ways to experience the show, depending on how you like to explore. 

Weekday tickets are perfect if you prefer to skip the crowds and take your time getting up close with the vehicles. Weekend tickets bring all the hype and excitement, with a high energy atmosphere and a packed show floor. 

For those who want a deeper dive, VIP Tickets include a personalized guided tour led by an automotive expert. You will gain insider insight into the models on display, new technology, and standout features across the show floor.

Plan Your Arrival

Public transportation is another easy option. Take the Metro Yellow or Green line to the Mt. Vernon Square 7th Street Convention Center stop, which places you just steps from the entrance. Ride share services are also widely available throughout downtown D.C.

Explore Every Level of the Show

The Washington, D.C. Auto Show spans multiple levels of the convention center, each offering something different.

The upper level is home to the Performance Hall, featuring major manufacturers and some of the most anticipated vehicles of the year.

On the lower level, attendees will find an expanded ART-of-Motion display that blends automotive design with creativity and movement. This level also features the Get Outdoors Pavilion, an exhibit space dedicated to outdoor adventure and lifestyle vehicles, along with the Kids Zone and the Strictly ebikes test track.
